Jazz at the Stanley

February 2026 | Iowa City, IA

Overview

Jazz at the Stanley is an annual concert SCOPE production hosts at our campus's art museum, which centers around the celebration of the intersection between physical and musical art. For this event, I primarily wanted to utilize digital channels, as it was scheduled to take place during the frigid Iowa winter. This involved working with the Stanley Art Museum's marketing team to coordinate newsletter articles, digital signage, and content creation, which SCOPE streamlined. In collaboration with the marketing team, we came up with an idea for photos and a reel script for the content side of things (see below). In addition, we also, but sparingly, used grassroots marketing methods like posters and chalking around select parts of campus. Due to the capacity of the venue (90 people), we were told we don't want to push the show too heavily to avoid issues with fire-code. Unfortunately, attendance was around 220 people (around 145% increase), which was another successful show in the books! However, this served as an opportunity of learning on when to hold back on the intensity of marketing.
